Before you do anything else, carefully read through the material on this website and familiarize yourself with the details of the program.
STEP 2: APPLY TO ONE OF THE PARTICIPATING COMMUNITY COLLEGES: BATON ROUGE, BOSSIER PARISH, DELGADO, NUNEZ, OR RIVER PARISHES AND CHECK YOUR ELIGIBILITY
Candidates applying to Louisiana TeachNext must first be admitted to one of the participating community colleges.
To make sure you meet the program requirements, thoroughly read the Eligibility Requirements listed on our website.

A complete application to Louisiana TeachNext, consists of the following:

2. Resume
Alternatively, a detailed response to the resume portion of the Louisiana TeachNext application may be provided if an applicant does not have a current resume available.
3. Personal statement
Submit a typed response to the personal statement question asked in the Louisiana TeachNext application. Please note: The personal statement is an important component of the application process and is used to determine whether an applicant is a good fit for the Associate of Science in Teaching degree program. This statement will be read and assessed by Louisiana TeachNext staff for content as well as structure. Therefore, we encourage applicants to take time when writing the personal statement and to proofread carefully for grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
4. Letter of recommendation
Submit one letter of recommendation from an individual who can attest to your character. Appropriate individuals include: a current or former employer, supervisor, teacher, community or religious leader. Note: Family members are not permitted to write the letter on your behalf.
STEP 4: SUBMIT YOUR COMPLETED APPLICATION
All completed Louisiana TeachNext applications should be submitted to the college where you are enrolled.
